In Conversation with Dale Washington

In Conversation with Dale Washington, an upcoming art exhibition curated by Makeba Kedem-DuBose, Messejah Washington, and Marci Rubin, dedicated to late visual artist Dale Washington.   The exhibition will be hosted at the Bridgeport Art Center from July 19th to September 6, 2024.  On view will be selected works from Dale's prolific portfolio including early works & pieces from his last years in Portland.  This exhibition celebrates Dale's breadth of work including his drawings, paintings and mixed media pieces sought after by private collectors in the Chicagoland community.  In Conversation with Dale Washington features his son, Messejah Washington's paintings, Dale's contemporaries and a legacy of artists whose work is inspired by Dale's unique style.  Works of art inspired by the late Dale Washington.   Open to sculpture, drawing, painting, photography, ceramics & mixed media/installation based pieces accepted.  Dale Washington, a talented and prolific abstract expressionist, showcased vibrant life across diverse mediums.   From powerful self-portraits illuminating his inner self to emotive landscapes and jazz scenes, his works were a symphony of expression.   At his Hyde Park Studio's Sunday dinner parties, he captured the essence of the Chicago art scene through expressive group portraits, featuring the luminaries of the era.
