CONNECT | call for art

Slate Arts + Performance invites artists to enter our call for art for our upcoming exhibition, CONNECT. Connecting requires at least two points in which a link or attachment of sorts can activate. As human beings, our livelihoods depend on how well we build and maintain connections. Relationships. Neural networks. Sound waves. Internet speed. Fibers of one's clothing. Artists are strongly encouraged to interpret and translate this theme into their submissions but it is not required. Artwork may be in any medium, but primary consideration will be given to artists who engage with New Media Arts and Contemporary Music practices. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, April 20, and the show will run through Sunday, May 19. We will be accepting submissions until Friday, April 5 at 11:59 PM. There is no application fee. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces, videos, sounds, etc. and all must be submitted via the google form below. Please also include title, size, and medium, as well as an artist’s statement. You may include 1 detail image per submission. Pieces may be a maximum of 6’x6’. Please note that if accepted, artists will be required to provide their own equipment/necessary components. All work must be hosted online. The submission form does not have a space to upload work.
