Commission Request: Symbolic Art Piece Featuring Crows for My Wife’s Birthday
Hello! I’m looking to commission an art piece for my wife’s birthday. The medium is flexible — painting, drawing — I care more about emotional depth and creative vision than the specific format.
Concept:
My wife loves crows, so they need to be central to the piece — one or two crows minimum — but not in a spooky or morbid way. More like intelligent, graceful, watchful, symbolic.
We recently moved from Seattle to the Chicago area, and I’d love for the piece to reflect that journey or transition symbolically — not literally (so no Space Needle or skyline collages). Something poetic and evocative of change, flight, and home.
We also have two kids, a dog, and a cat, and it would be meaningful if those could be represented in some symbolic or subtle way. Think visual metaphors or abstract elements rather than portraits of the family.
Artistic Style:
Open to interpretation — minimalist, surreal, dreamy, textured — just not cartoonish. Looking for something elegant and emotionally resonant that could hang in our home for years.
Practical Details:
- Budget: open to suggestions.
- Timeline: before end of July - ready for pick up or shipped to me (I’ll pay) before July 25
- Delivery: We’re based near Chicago if local pickup is an option
If this resonates with your artistic style and you’d like to discuss more, please reach out with your portfolio and a rough quote. I’m open to letting your creativity guide this, as long as the crows — and the story of transition and family — are at its heart.
Thanks so much for reading.
