Collective Narratives: Artists, Influences & Inspirations from around the city”
Artist are asked to submit work that has a story behind it. This show will present inspiration alongside art. We want the impetus that inspired art to be revealed, not to be a literal description of the piece but to display how inspiration comes in many forms and how the response to inspiration has many results.
This is a literal look at the beginning and the ending, leaving for contemplation the journey in between.
The Impetus statement: Keep it short, a few sentences or less. Again, the purpose is not to describe the art but to describe the inspiration. Statements will only be asked of work(s) selected to be in the show.
Examples of an Impetus statement:
I was listening to the radio while driving to work one day, they kept repeating this word I’d never heard before, Anhedonia
