Ceramics Artist in Residence
Overview:
De Duallè Ceramics is seeking a talented and motivated Ceramic Artist-in-Residence to join our vibrant community. This unique residency offers full access to our ceramic studio while also providing the opportunity to take on a key leadership role. The ideal candidate is passionate about ceramics, highly organized, and committed to supporting both their personal artistic growth and the creative development of our community members. Along with the responsibilities of the studio itself, this is an opportunity for personal artistic development, through connection with the creative community at De Dualllè and Chicago.
Also under the ownership of De Duallè, a space that is used for a multitude of different events, such as open mics, art shows and movie screenings. The artist in residence has access to that space for a solo, or group exhibition to showcase the work they have made while in the residency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee operations of the ceramics studio
- Maintain inventory of supplies and materials, and place orders as needed
- Perform and schedule routine kiln maintenance and firing
- Teach workshops and/or facilitate open studio sessions for community members
- Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all studio users
- Collaborate with the Ceramics Studio Coordinator for administrative support and programming

Qualifications:
- Strong background in ceramics, with a portfolio of recent work
- Experience with electric and/or gas kiln operation and maintenance
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Teaching or workshop facilitation experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
