CATACOMBS at Dorothy - Call for Actors

Performances: September 12th, 13th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 25th, 26th, 27th at 6pm
Rehearsals: beginning in June - anticipate 2-4 rehearsals a week on average, built around the production team's schedules. All rehearsals and production will take place in the West Town neighborhood.

CASTING FOR:
Please note: pronouns used by the characters are listed below but the production team is interested in seeing any and all actors who are interested in being a part of a gender expansive / queer / trans focused show. Actors must be 21+.

• Ari (she/her) : thirties something queer bartender just trying to make it to opening.
• Beau (they/she): thirties something queer barback just trying to hold onto hope.

SHOW SYNOPSIS
A working class queer, a stranger, and 1000 years worth of past lives walk into a bar–

or: ARI is the not official (meaning not paid for it) manager of a queer bar, her boss is on a yacht in Mykonos, all her coworkers are either sick or on the side of the highway, and she’s going to have to open by herself unless she can get a last minute temp for the night. Luckily, in strolls BEAU–hot, charming, and able to load a dishwasher. As the meet-cute goes pitch perfect, it seems Ari’s ass is saved, and maybe she could even have a fun hook-up when her shift is over for the night–until Beau reveals that they’re not the last minute temp hire from the service industry app they ordered. They’re actually Ari’s reincarnated soulmate who they’ve spent dozens of lifetimes with over the past 1000 years. Whoops.

AUDITION INFORMATION

• Auditions will take place on Sunday May 4th between 12pm-4pm in person only at Villanelle, located directly above Dorothy (2500 W Chicago Ave)
• Callbacks will take place on Monday May 12 at 6PM. Actors will be notified within 24h of their audition if they are being offered a callback. Actors must be able to attend both in person to be considered for the production.
• Please prepare up to two minutes of any material that you love and makes you feel euphoric and confident. Catacombs is a play about relationships, love, lust, queer revolution... - anything that speaks to you that you'd like to share with us is welcome. We want to see you at your best.
• Note: if audition slots fill, you are welcome to crash auditions and we will work you in to the best of our ability.

This production guarantees a $750 stipend to hired actors.
