Calling Skokie Artists!

The Village of Skokie Fine Arts Commission invites Skokie artists in all media to submit their work for consideration in our second annual Skokie Art Exhibit.

This exhibition, juried by Skokie artist Gabriella Boros, seeks to give Skokie artists an opportunity to showcase their talent in their own town. In addition, the Commission will be holding events in the space during the month giving a wider audience to the exhibition.

Important Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: Friday, January 9, 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: Friday, January 16, 2026
  • Date for Delivery of Artworks: Tuesday, February 3, 2026
  • Exhibition Dates: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from February 6 through 20. Schedule subject to change.
  • Opening Reception: Friday, February 6, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Date for Pick Up of Artworks: Saturday, February 20, 2026
  • Location: The Storefront, 4051 Main St., Skokie, IL 60076


Submission Guidelines:

  1. Eligibility: This exhibition is exclusively open to artists 18 or over who live or work in Skokie, Illinois.
  2. Artwork: Submissions can be in any visual medium, but should be suitable for display in a gallery setting. Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces. All artwork should be completed within the past three years.
  3. Artwork Details: We welcome a wide range of artwork, including but not limited to paintings, photography, sculptures, mixed media, and works on paper. All submitted artworks must be exhibition ready (ie wired and ready to hang) ensuring a smooth and efficient installation process for our exhibition.
  4. Submission Fee: There is no submission fee for this exhibition.
  5. Sales: If artists wish to offer their artwork for sale, they may request to have the price and their contact information included on an exhibition sheet. The Village of Skokie Fine Arts Commission will not facilitate the sale of any artwork nor retain any commission.
  6. Waiver of Liability: If selected, artists must sign a waiver of liability acknowledging that the Fine Arts Commission will exercise utmost care in handling the artworks but cannot be held responsible for any shrinkage, damages, or unforeseen incidents. This waiver ensures a mutual understanding and protection for both the artist and the Village of Skokie.
  7. Copyright: All artists retains full copyright of exhibited work. By submitting artwork, artists agree the right to use the images in publications and gallery publicity.
