Calling for artists for new, ongoing performance series
Wedge Projects is seeking artists to create live action works for a performance program currently under development. For this series, titled Mezzo Prismatic, artists will be asked to take into account and specifically utilize the small, idiosyncratic, street level entry foyer at Wedge. Visually accessible from the street on three sides at all times, this space offers unique conditions from which to explore and present live action works which might consider, among many possibilities, ideas related to: interstices, interior/exterior, witness/participant, confinement/freedom, and public/private. As well, artists will be encouraged to think of the body not only as subject/object but also as material. Artists interested in participating in Mezzo Prismatic should attend a site visit on either Thursday, May 3 from 7:30pm - 9pm or Sunday, May 6 from 12pm - 1:30pm.
