The New Futures program is part of our ongoing mission to break down traditional barriers within the contemporary art world. New Futures awards one emerging artist in the Chicagoland area a free booth at The Other Art Fair, offering an incredible platform to show your work to collectors, curators, and art lovers.
The Other Art Fair brings together over 125 independent artists to showcase boundary-pushing yet always accessible works, alongside immersive installations, live performances, and unexpected encounters.
Whether you're at the beginning of your artistic journey or a seasoned pro, The Other Art Fair offers a unique platform for creative game-changing artists to share and sell their work directly to engaged collectors and passionate art lovers.
Invest in your art career - our last edition broke records, reaching new heights in total artwork sales. Over 3,000 pieces found new homes and 98% of artists made sales. Don't miss this opportunity!
Who is Eligible for New Futures?
- New Futures is open to artists working in all mediums. No formal artistic training is required of the artist.
- Applicants must be an artist with a completed body of work to install, exhibit and sell at the Fair.
- Applicants must be a resident of the Fair city they are applying for.
- Applicants must not have previously exhibited at any edition of The Other Art Fair worldwide, either as an exhibitor, solo project, or installation artist.
- Applicants should not have exclusive gallery representation or plans for proposed solo exhibitions at the time of application and up until the end of the calendar year. (This includes involvement in any art fairs and gallery shows).
- The recipients must be present and onsite for the duration of the Fair they have applied for.
- Past New Futures recipients cannot apply.
