Call for Art: Eternal Maternal

About the Exhibition: We are thrilled to announce a call for art that celebrates the profound essence of motherhood in all its forms. Whether inspired by personal experiences of motherhood or a deep reverence for our Mother Earth, we invite artists from all walks of life to submit their creations that capture the beauty, strength, and nurturing spirit inherent in the concept of motherhood.
Theme:
The theme of this call for art revolves around the multifaceted concept of motherhood. Artists are encouraged to explore various interpretations, including but not limited to:
- Personal reflections on the joys, challenges, and complexities of motherhood.
- Expressions of gratitude, love, and respect towards mothers, mother figures, and Mother Earth.
- Depictions of maternal bonds, caregiving, and the eternal cycle of life.
- Artistic responses to environmental concerns, advocating for the protection and preservation of our planet as our collective mother.
Medium:
All visual art mediums are welcome, including but not limited to painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, and installations. We encourage artists to unleash their creativity and experiment with innovative techniques to convey their message effectively.
Key Dates:
Submission Deadline: Midnight on Friday, April 19th, 2024
Acceptance Communication: Monday, April 22nd, 2024
Artwork Drop-off:
- Sunday, April 28th, 12 pm - 2 pm
- Monday, April 29th, 4 pm - 6 pm
Exhibition Installation: Monday, May 6th, from 10 am onwards (Artwork not received by this time will not be included)
Opening Reception: Friday, May 10th, from 7 pm to 9 pm
Submission Guidelines:
Artists are invited to submit original artwork that aligns with the theme. All mediums and styles are welcome, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, and mixed media.
Submit up to three high-resolution images of your artwork along with a brief artist statement (max. 250 words) explaining how your work relates to the theme.
Artwork should be professionally presented and ready for display.
Sculptural and 3D works must be stable and safe for public viewing.
Artists are responsible for transporting their artwork to and from the exhibition venue.
Artists must have a free Hazroom.com Profile to apply to the exhibition.
Sales: Artists have the option to list their artwork for sale during the exhibition. The gallery will take 20% commission from sales.
Acceptance Notification: Artists whose work is selected for the exhibition will be notified via email on Monday, April 22nd, 2024.
