Aram Han describes her tools as a needle and thread, and her medium as time and labor. Born in Seoul, Han immigrated to California in 1992. She mines her family’s immigration experience to address issues of labor and identity. She earned her BA in Art and Latin American Studies from the University of California-Berkeley and her MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from SAIC. Han has shown in national and international exhibitions, including the Society for Contemporary Craft and LuXun Academy of Fine Art in China. She is an instructor in the Liberal Arts, and Fiber and Material Studies departments at SAIC.
