Office Hours: Portfolio Reviews is an opportunity for artists to meet with arts practitioners from throughout the city. One-on-one portfolio reviews last 30 minutes and provide a platform to discuss a range of questions, including:

  • Feedback on artwork
  • Preparing for exhibitions
  • Pursuing professional opportunities
  • And more!

JANUARY GUEST CONSULTANTS

Ashley Wynn is the Director at Monique Meloche Gallery in Chicago. Formally the director of contemporary spaces in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, Wynn also served as the right hand to Klaus Biesenbach at MoMA, MoMA PS1, and MOCA. Wynn has collaborated with established and emerging artists on projects and exhibitions that operate across the disciplines of art and performance. She aims to create diverse, culturally relevant and captivating programming.


Britton Bertran
is the Director at Carrie Secrist Gallery in Chicago. He is also a Chicago-based independent curator and Lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the Arts Administration and Policy Department. Previous positions held include Fellows Program Officer for United States Artists and Educational Programs Manager at Urban Gateways, a non-profit Art Education organization. He also owned and directed 40000, a contemporary art gallery in the West Loop and was the Visual Arts Consultant for the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation. Prior independent curatorial projects include New Icon at the Loyola University Museum of Art and Artists Run Chicago at the Hyde Park Art Center. Britton earned an MA in Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.


Jefferson Godard
is a video art curator, gallery director, educator, and trained architect. Currently he serves as Director of Aspect/Ratio, a contemporary art gallery located in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago and teaches in Art and Art History at Columbia College Chicago. He has curated video art based exhibitions and screenings at spaces including: The Chicago Architecture Biennial, Gallery 400 at UIC Chicago, Nice and Fit Gallery Berlin, Souvenirs from Earth channel in France, Shane Campbell Gallery Chicago, and The Mission Chicago. As well, Godard has worked on several high-rise residential projects in his hometown of Miami, Florida and worked on an award-winning urban park competition Bahndeckel in Munich, Germany. In addition to his curatorial and gallery endeavors, Godard has spoken on panels at the MCA Chicago, Moving image Art Fair New York, Chicago Artists Coalition, Art Cologne, and chaired a panel discussion at the College Arts Association Conference.


Kate Pollasch
is an art historian, curator, and writer with 10+ years of developing cultural engagement, arts access, and innovative exhibitions and programing. As an administrator and writer, she forges pathways for private collectors, public organizations, and community groups to access the arts in transformative ways. As a curator, her practice interrogates preexisting notions of history and normativity and she is dedicated to creating opportunities for a diverse array of artists. Pollasch holds a MA in Modern art History and Theory and an MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Pollasch is currently the Director of Corbett vs. Dempsey and has held positions at the University Club of Chicago, The American Visionary Art Museum, The Art institute of Chicago, the Roger Brown House Museum, SAIC Sullivan Galleries, and Rhona Hoffman Gallery. For the past three years she has served as the SAIC Low Res MFA Show Guest Curator.
