Nominated by the University of Illinois - Chicago Nadine Abdelrahim is a full time artist, dedicated to finding out what that really means. Most of her work deals with the idea of being an individual within a community and the way we – the collective individual, see ourselves as part of something bigger. She uses her own image as a means to connect and reconstruct what it means to be an artist in the 21st century. Through mediums such as sculpture, video, installation and text, Nadine is able to form a narrative that attempts to bridge gaps between seemingly different communities, as well as start unspoken conversations within her own.
