Marcus McCoy

Nominated by Chicago State University Influenced by his upbringing in an impoverished area, subsequently witness to the city’s violent nature, Marcus McCoy’s graphic design focuses on effectively bridging the city’s cultural differences through visual representation. Highlighting the apparent disconnect between communities, McCoy's work intends to creates a universal perspective and communal understanding of society. With a self-described aesthetic of “commercially inspired with penurious influence,” McCoy views graphic design at the catalyst for art to become more accessible and tangible for a broader audience. Marcus McCoy is a graphic designer and recent graduate of the Art & Design Program at Chicago State University. He currently works and resides on the city's South Side.
