LeRoy Bach is a Chicago-based musician, composer, instigator. His practice includes site-specific presentations, live-music installations, public meditations, and the development of a personal musical poetics. Bach was a 2013 artist-in-residence at the University of Chicago (Arts and Public Life). In 2014 he was artist-in-residence at The Headlands Center for the Arts, Arizona State University, and the Djerassi Artist Program. He is currently in residence at the Smart Museum (University of Chicago), working in conjunction with the museum’s permanent sculpture collection. Bach has also worked extensively with Wilco, Theaster Gates, and he maintains an ongoing collaboration with Tortoise member Dan Bitney.
