A Rich History Supporting

Chicago Artists

Chicago Artists Coalition is the place to see cutting-edge work by Chicago artists and curators. The organization supports them through its programs, providing the with the resources and community needed to become leaders in the art world.

In 1974, CAC began as a small group of artists advocating for rights, support, and visibility. Its early achievements include the formation of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and the Percent for Art Ordinance. Since then, CAC has continued to grow and evolve to meet the needs of Chicago’s artists. In 2018 CAC moved to the Kinzie Industrial Corridor, building out its new space as ADA accessible and eliminating artist fees from its residency programs.
