The third annual citywide Teaching Artists Summit will provide a space for reflection and education on ways that teaching artists can build sustainable careers and creative practices in the field and how arts pedagogy can create meaningful platforms for visioning, self-confidence, and strategic thinking.

Members of artist-run collaborative spaces based in Chicago will introduce us to four different models of collective organizing.


Clinical Skill-Share + Strategies for Teaching Artists

Saturday, May 12, 2018 - 10:00am to 1:00pm

Licensed clinical social worker Shipra Parikh will share practical strategies for trauma-informed teaching and guide participants through a process of skill sharing and devising solutions to common classroom challenges.


Arts Program Design + Development

Tuesday, May 15, 2018 - 5:30pm to 9:00pm

Arts consultant and project manager Cortney Lederer will guide arts professionals through the process of conceptualizing and implementing sustainable art programs and incubators.


In Conversation: Adaptive Leadership
