Ceramic / Pottery Art Studio Space

Ceramic studio space available May 1st. We are collective of 5 professional ceramics artists sharing space in the Albany Park/Irving Park neighborhood. Rent is $285 per month and includes the following:

• 2 dedicated 3’ x 5’ work tables with storage underneath,
• 2 dedicated full height shelving units that measure 18"x48"x72"
• Flexibility to use your own personal furniture
• Access to a slab roller and shared tools
• Access to 2 electric kilns

Wheel throwers should plan to provide their own wheel. Kiln firings are $25 and $30 per firing for a full kiln (kilns can be shared). Each artist provides their own clay and glaze materials. Kilns can be fired up to Cone 6.

In addition to the Ceramic studio amenities, the following is also included in rent:

• Air conditioning & heat
• Ceiling fans
• Electrical outlet every 10 feet
• Freight elevator - 5000lbs capacity
• Loading dock
• Slop sink
• Restroom with a shower
• Free gated parking
• Shared kitchen
• Documentation/installation wall
• Temp project-based workspace on an as needed basis

This studio is located near the intersection of Kedzie and Irving Park in a creative warehouse building. Studio spaces are located on the 1st and 4th floors. We are a collective of about 10-15 professional artists working in a variety of media. Studio members are required to sign a studio agreement. Lease term is 1 year with a 1-month security deposit. References required.

We remain committed to sustaining vibrant and accessible artistic communities in Chicago by offering CAR’s online resources on the Chicago Artists Coalition site. Users can still post and find calls for artists, job opportunities, and available art studio space. Emerging artists, curators, and businesses can also learn more about CAC grants and art advising services.
