Voice Instructor

UpBeat Music and Arts, a non-profit Organization, is hiring a part-time Voice Instructor to work with youth ages 8-17 years old. Students will learn to understand and use the voice as an instrument. Having fun and gaining confidence is our goal! Through warm-ups, exercises, and songs, students are introduced to techniques that will help produce relaxed and powerful sound and tone.
The UpBeat Music and Arts Voice Teacher will work with a small team and gain valuable insight into the teaching and mentoring needs at a small and growing nonprofit. The majority of responsibilities will include teaching 30 minute voice lessons to children ages 8-17, planning and using appropriate instructional and learning strategies, and helping to coordinating and support program activities.
•Proficient in voice, music theory and piano
• Previous work experience in music education or summer camp is preferred, but not required
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teaching skills with children
• The ability to work both independently and within a group environment
Time Commitment
Initially the need is for 1-2 shifts. 3-6 hours/week with growth opportunities.
Our teaching days include Monday-Thursday (3pm-8pm) and Saturdays (10am-2pm)
