Violin Teacher for Chicago Public Schools

Job Summary: Music House is currently seeking violin teachers to serve in our before/lunch/after school Outreach Program in our partnering Chicago Public Schools, with the option to expand schedule to private lessons with experience and commitment. This teacher would be responsible for maintaining an engaging curriculum that is performance-based (training and materials available and provided), taking and submitting attendance, and committing to scheduled classes for the 2021-2022 school year. Teachers will be paid as an independent contractor.

Create and deliver effective instruction that engages young learners in ways that empower positive classroom managementProvide assessment once a quarter of students’ musical progressProvide updates to parents on progress through assigned appCollaborate with Music House admin to provide quality performances of your class twice a yearConcert performances each semester Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors in your discipline (Music / Dance/ Theater/ Art ) or Bachelors and relevant life experienceExcellent personable skills, desire to learn, and resilience when it comes to engaging studentsLove of kids and working with childrenReliable TransportationTeaching experience preferredScheduling Possibilities include:

Before school group classes (7:30am- 9:00am time frame)Lunch time group classes (11:45-1:00 time frame)After school group classes (2:45-5:15 time frame)Possible private lesson instruction during evening hours and weekends Compensation: All teachers are hired as independent contractors. Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and expertise.
