Theatre Community Education Program Director, DePaul University
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the Director of the Community Drama Division is a member of the administrative staff and will help develop and then manage The Theatre School's community education program. This will include organizing, managing, and supporting various aspects of the Community Drama Division program, including curriculum development, marketing, registration, scheduling, communications, and recruitment and supervision of the teaching artist staff.
Responsibilities & Duties
Develop and implement community education programming and curriculum across multiple age groups.
Develop and maintain marketing strategies to promote the program and curriculum offerings.
Develop and nurture relationships with schools, other organizations and the community at large.Identify, engage, and supervise teaching artist staff.
Advise current Theatre School students completing practicum credit as assistant teaching artists.
Manage communication with patrons and the registration process for the curriculum offerings.
Work with Business Operations Manager to maintain the program budget and reconcile all expenses and revenues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Minimum 5 years experience as teaching artist or in arts-related educational outreach
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Interest and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, administrators.
Strong multitasking skills.
Successful experience with team-work.
Will manage one part-time staff member, 10-20 part-time teaching artists, and 2-5 student employees.
Responsible for processing and management of Community Drama Division budget.
