Theater teaching artists summer camp and school year

Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble is looking for teachers for our summer camp program and next school year. We are looking for individuals interested in learning how to utilize the arts in the classroom to link literacy and social-emotional learning. This is an excellent opportunity for creative people know that teaching the arts is more than just dance steps and memorizing lines. People of color and male-identifying are strongly encouraged to apply. Teacher must have 1-2 years of experience working with students. CDE works with kids of all ages and backgrounds. We offer a training program to help teachers be able to teach at schools and community centers. Below is a description for the following programs we are hiring for: Summer Camp: June 24-August 16th: camp runs from 9am-3pm. Dance and Theater teachers will co-teach two one-hour sessions each day and then oversee creative time, lunch and group gathering. CDE hired two visual art teachers per day. Teachers will be responsible for creating small performances 3-4 minutes in length with the other teachers around our theme: Time Machine. This is a play and arts based summer camp focused on the creative process and the child’s voice. Students are ages 4-12 years old. Location: 1600 N Hoyne, Chicago IL 60622 Compensation: $16 an hour School Year Programs CDE works with school’s and community centers through out the city and is currently hiring teachers for next year. We are hiring dance and theatre teachers. Dance Teachers must have experience with Creative Movement, Jazz, Ballet, Modern and choreography technique. Teachers with backgrounds in Hip-hop are also encouraged to apply but must have a background in other styles of dance. Compensation: Lead Teachers: $25-45 depending on program and experience.
