Theater Teaching Artists for Summer Camps Ages 4 -6 / The Stage School

The Stage School is currently seeking Theater Teaching Artists specializing in Early Childhood for our 2023 Summer Camps. The camps are held in Park Ridge, Illinois.

All camps are held Monday - Saturday, from 8:30 – 11: 30 AM. Performances take place on the Saturday of camp at 10:30 AM. Instructors will be required to stay till 12 Noon on Saturday to assist with student check out and performance strike.

Campers range in age from 4 to 6. Compensation is flat rate of $500 per week.

Summer Camps Park Ridge (ages 4-6)

• Friendly Neighborhood Helpers (July 17 – July 22)
• Disney on Parade (July 24 - July 29)
• Stone Soup (July 31 - August 5)

An instructor who can do multiple weeks of camp is preferred but not required. We are open to candidates who can only commit to one full camp week.

The Teaching Artist will be responsible for:

• teaching basic acting, singing and dance technique to students
• preparing students to give their best performance through fun and engaging games and activities
• staging scenes and choreographing dance numbers
• working with the production team to ensure all camp/production needs are addressed
• assisting backstage during performance, and with set up and strike as needed.

Ideal teaching candidates will

• be motivated, energetic, and organized
• have a strong professional background in the performing arts
• have experience teaching children ages 4 – 6
• have experience in directing for and rehearsing musical theater
• have a passion for teaching life skills to young people through the performing arts.

Please note: the camp location is not easily accessible by public transportation. Reliable transportation is required.
