Park Art League
The
Oak Park Art League is looking for talented and qualified teaching
artists who teach K-6th
grade students at elementary schools.
Master Art Education graduates or near graduates are also welcome to apply.
We have received grants to provide art instruction to youth that do not typically have the resources and opportunities to have art classes in their schools.
Ideal
candidates need to have a passion for sharing their love of art with
students of all ages, as well as strong drawing, paintings, art
construction skills across a variety of media. The ability to connect
with students and work with their interests and skills to build
confidence and experience is essential for this role. Experience with
a variety of crafting media in addition to fine art materials is
preferred.
Skills
& Qualifications:
Experience teaching in classroom art settings with children (K-6th grade).
Excellent communication skills.
Friendly, fun, and engaging in classroom settings.
Ability to adapt to student needs and learning styles.
Reliable and punctual. Access to a vehicle is necessary.
Must pass background check and other requirements to teach in youth settings.
Valid
driver’s license or ID.
Duties
Include:
Teaching classes (1 to 6 classes, once a week on Wednesdays), from mid-late February 2023 through May 2023.
Preparing class materials and the cleaning and preparing art room between classes.
Providing
a comprehensive curriculum of activities for the term to be utilized
per class, per age group.
Compensation:
Hourly
rate for art instructors is $25 per hour. Masters’ graduates or
near graduates are also welcome to apply.
