Teaching Artist - Subsitute

We are seeking Music, Dance, Visual Arts, and/or Theater substitute teaching artists to begin programming with our School Partners department for the 22/23 school year. Programming opportunities will be sent to all substitutes of the appropriate discipline on an as need basis throughout the school year. BAC School Partnerships teaching artists rates are $30-$60 per hour contingent on educational background and teaching experience.

Teaching Artists should be proficient in teaching their discipline(s) course material and open to working in a public education environment of 10-30 students per class. Our Education Coordinator and Education Manager will also collaborate with teaching artists on developing program specific curriculum mapping and lesson planning. All resident teaching artists must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and pass a background check to be eligible for programming with BAC school partners.

As part of the Beverly Arts Center’s mission, our School Partnerships department offers tailored Arts-enrichment programming to Chicago area public and private schools throughout the city and surrounding suburbs - especially the south and west sides - before-school, in-school, and after-school. Join our roster of professional Teaching Artists to collaborate on arts integrated programming and refresh any teaching skills with our annual Professional Development cycle. Substitute Teaching Artists will all be considered and are encouraged to express interest and feedback if seeking a more long-term/permanent residency between the Beverly Arts Center and our school partners.
