AllKinds is partnering up with two Chicago KIPP Academy locations for a special program in their art curriculum this spring semester. We are looking for one teaching artist who can manage both of these classes:
- The Bloom Academy project is a condensed capstone for their inaugural 4th grade graduating class focusing on the “bloom” theme that will result in a permanent “mosaic” tile installation.
- The KCAP project is a 16-week mural project for their 2nd graders that focuses on the topic of gun violence. Once completed, this piece may be displayed at several locations throughout the community before permanently landing at the KIPP Museum.
- Both projects include a KIPP teacher to lead the curriculum portion of the lessons but your responsibility will be to develop the art skills the students need to create the final installation in tandem with the curriculum.
- Schedule will require 2 weeks of daily classes for Bloom and 16 weeks of weekly classes for KCAP.
