Summer Camp Teachers & Assistants / Lillstreet Art Center

Kidstreet Summer Camp

Lillstreet Art Center is hiring camp teachers and assistants for the 2020 Summer Art Camp.

Camps begin the week of June 8 and end the week of September 4.

This year, Lillstreet will host more than 200 different camps over a thirteen-week period. We provide a wide variety of art experiences for children of all skill levels, ages 3 to 16 years. We are seeking individuals who work within the arts and have a passion for and experience working with children.

Lillstreet offers full-day and half-day camps that run 9am-3:30pm, 9am-1pm and 1:30-4:30pm every weekday. All applicants must be available Monday through Friday.

Skills & Qualifications:

Camp Teacher

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Education or related field
    • Or 2 years of undergraduate art or education program
  • Experience teaching and managing children (ages 3 - 16) in an artistic setting
  • Knowledge of and experience in applicable camp medium (clay, drawing, painting, metalsmithing, sewing, digital arts or other mixed-media)
  • Must be able to create and provide in-depth lesson plans and communicate supply requests to Department Director by a given deadline.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Responsible and able to follow studio rules and guidelines
  • Quick thinking, flexible and highly engaging in a classroom setting
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Must be available to teach Monday - Friday

Camp Assistant

  • Experience in clay, drawing, painting, metalsmithing, sewing, digital arts and other mixed-media.
  • Experience working with children ages 3-16 years
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to organize and help set up and clean up for camp
  • Must be available to assist Monday - Friday
