The Studio Coordinator provides broad administrative support to Spudnik Press programs and operations. They are the first point of contact for many of the artists, students, clients, and partners who participate in or contribute to Spudnik Press programs. Through responding to all basic inquiries via phone, e-mail, and in person visits, the Studio Coordinator position is both administrative and customer service oriented.
Through managing the organization’s scheduling software and multiple databases, the Studio Coordinator manages all studio appointments, group class registrations, private lessons, and studio trainings. This role also processes liability forms, equipment authorizations, and memberships. They provide broad administrative support to their colleagues through activities like posting classes and merchandise to our website, producing class rosters, managing student communications, providing quotes for printing services, and generally ensuring that clients are connected to the staff, programs, and resources that will best meet their needs.
The Studio Coordinator manages invoices and website sales, ensuring that all orders are fulfilled, inventory is up-to-date, recurring payments are set up as needed, and that studio rentals and fines are tracked and paid in a timely manner. They carefully monitor art sales to ensure that art is safely packaged and shipped, and that sales and artwork inventory are properly tracked. This position tends to be highly involved in capacity-building projects by providing broad project management support and additional administrative assistance to other staff members and member committees.
On a daily basis, the Studio Coordinator will work closely with the Studio Manager, balancing responsibilities across many programs. This is a fast-paced job that requires strong organization, time management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to consistently execute routine tasks. All staff share the responsibility of serving on various committees as needed, working with interns, and staffing events. The ideal candidate will posses some familiarity with printmaking processes in order to better serve our community and will enjoy working collaboratively. Spudnik Press is currently in a transitional period, and focusing on rebuilding. As such, someone who is ambitious, driven, and interested in growing with/in our organization is strongly desired. Staff are expected to bring passion and integrity to their work while enjoying the community of creative artists, makers, students, and teachers that contribute to Spudnik Press.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
• Previous administration experience required.
• Previous customer service experience strongly preferred.
• Comfortable using databases, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Wordpress.
• Online store management experience (inventory, order management, shipping & handling)
• Strong work ethic; driven, highly motivated, and productive
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent deadline-management and attention to detail
• Some familiarity with fine art printmaking or Chicago's artistic landscape required; hands-on experience making prints is preferred but not required.
• Project management experience is a bonus.
Working Environment:
• Collaborative working style with interdependent work
• Blend of in-person and remote work; Staggered shifts; Some onsite work is required.

Compensation is $20 per hour. Benefits include two weeks paid time off and up to eleven paid holidays per year. Additionally, all staff receive waived tuition for Spudnik Press classes, and access to all general materials and equipment.
