Stage Management Intern

Lookingglass Theatre Company, a nationally recognized ensemble theatre company located in Chicago, Illinois, seeks an enthusiastic stage management for our production of The Steadfast Tin Soldier.

Internship Title: Stage Management Intern

Mentored by: Stage Manager, Production Manager

Internship Description:

Intern will closely learn about the work and responsibilities of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) stage managers. Beginning with attendance at pre-production meetings, the intern will take part in the rehearsal process, technical rehearsals, and stay with a production through its opening. Mentored by the professional stage management team, the intern will learn how stage managers ensure a productive rehearsal room, with activities which range from creating meticulous paperwork to consistent space set-up to the tracking and set/strike of properties during rehearsals to providing line notes. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual contemplating a future career as a stage manager.

This is an unpaid internship from October 08, 2019 through November 1, 2019. Applicants may seek class credit or EMC weeks.

This is a physically active internship requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs repeatedly, and ability to work at height.
