Staff Photographer - Auction House

Potter & Potter Auctions seeks to add a Staff Photographer to its growing team. Reporting to the Director of Photography, main responsibilities of the role include supporting the production of auction catalogs, marketing materials, and associated material, both pre- and post-production, as well as planning, setting up, and executing photo sessions. Additionally, this role will be tasked with completing a high volume of thorough image editing within a deadline-oriented work environment. This is a full-time position with hourly compensation commensurate with experience.

-Prep items for photography (assembly, cleaning, moving, etc.)
-Staging fragile items to be shot
-Handling lighting and camera equipment, including adjustment and setting of lights, setting up sweeps, and drives
-Shoot photos of inventory for cataloging and promotional use. This includes printed catalogs,
social media and marketing, and media materials
-Organize and shelve property before and after it has been photographed
-Edit images according to company style
-Maintain and organize studio space and shelving
-Assist in the coordination of materials that are in pre-production with our Inventory Management team
-Assist in image requests from clients, consignors, and media sources
-Maintain all image archives
-Ability to work live auctions on an as needed basis, with some auctions on weekends

Physical Requirements:
-Ability to lift 30+ pounds
-Regularly required to work on feet for long periods of time

-2+ years of previous experience in commercial photography; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
-Demonstratable proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge.
-Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not necessary
-Experience handling delicate material, some art handling experience preferred but not necessary
-Experience with archival work a plus.
-Proven experience in other deadline-oriented professional settings.
-Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary
