Songwriting Teaching Artist for Kindergarten residency-- $40/hr plus prep

Seeking Songwriting Teaching Artist for Kindergarten Residency near Ashland and Diversey Description: Idea Box Integrated Arts is seeking a Songwriting Teaching Artist for two 8-week residencies. This is a unit within a larger performing arts residency also provided by Idea Box. The teaching artist will have 8 one-hour sessions to work with a class of 30 Kindergarten students to write a single “class song” based on assigned integration topic (ie. “types of weather” or “adding and subtracting”—specific topics still TBD). Teaching Artist must also provide completed lyrics, and recorded demo and accompaniment tracks for students to use in performance. Primary teaching artist works with students to memorize and choreograph the song for performance following the Songwriting residency.Location: Prescott Elementary School, 1632 W Wrightwood Ave, Chicago, IL 60614Student Age Range: Kindergarten# of Students Per Class:approx. 30Schedule:ALL CLASSES meet 1:45-2:45pm.
