Social Media Specialist for Chicago Sculpture International
Chicago Sculpture International CSI is a 501(c)(3) membership organization and was the first recognized chapter of the International Sculpture Center. Founded in 2004, we are proud to have 250+ members. Over the past few years, Chicago Sculpture International has been recognized as a major part of the thriving arts scene of Chicago through grants awarded by city and statewide programs. Our established and ever-growing mission is to serve and champion sculptors while facilitating the importance of arts and creativity throughout the city and beyond.
How you will contribute:
As the Social Media Specialist, you are a valued member of CSI, responsible for maintaining our social media properties and developing campaigns that promote good community engagement and enhance the visibility of our exhibits and events. The position entails the creation, preparation, and posting of organic and paid social content, monitoring social properties for comments, and developing and maintaining the content calendar.
You report to the organization’s President and Board of Directors with social media analytics and analysis of effective strategies.
Specifically, you will:
- Provide 2-4x weekly content for CSI social media accounts, including timely community moderation for comments.
- Maintain social channel branding with up-to-date copy and artwork.
- Create and execute social media plans.
- Collaborate with President, Board, Managing Director, and Project Space Gallery Director
- Produce original and campaign-related content (graphics, video, and copy) that helps move the CSI’s mission forward and follows its overall strategy.
- Maintain social analytics for social performance reports.
- Stay abreast of key trends in social media, the fine art industry and communities, social channels, and social media listening tools to help advance CSI’s messaging of its mission.
- Maintain social media profiles on Instagram and Facebook.
- Print Ad creation.
Your background and experience include:
- Two to four years of experience in social media and marketing. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Art gallery or museum experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in using and creating content for social media campaigns for social media channels such as Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram), Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, and TikTok.
- Strong short-form video production skills.
- Comfortable with speaking to camera and being the face of CSI
- Able to visit sculptures at various locations in the City of Chicago and suburbs along with Project Space Gallery events for content production.
- Proven verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to interact with followers online and in person, answering questions and facilitating discussion.
- Demonstrated experience with social media metrics, reporting, and analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and be extremely organized and detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated relationship-builder who is able to work collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Premier Rush, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
- Proficiency with Canva and Issuu, Google Drive proficiency a plus.
- Cultural competency to collaborate and coordinate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Position and compensation details
- This position is part-time 5-7 hours a week without benefits.
- The rate is $400/month
- The typical work schedule is remote, flexible hours, Monday through Friday, and will require occasional weekends and evenings for campaigns and events.
