Social Media Coordinator & Administrator
The American Society of Media Photographers Chicago/Midwest is looking for a part-time Administrator & Social Media Coordinator! The person in this position will work approximately 10-15 hours a month to support the ASMP Chicago/Midwest Chapter. We are currently working on a number of initiatives in 2024 and would love for someone to jump into this role to provide support! ASMP is a membership organization that builds a supportive community for photographers focusing on business resources, educational programs and networking opportunities. If you are an organized and enthusiastic self-starter who wants to help build community in photography and the arts, this may be the position for you!
Manage ASMP Chicago/Midwest website and communication with current and new members Create and maintain schedule on internal and external calendars, including Eventbrite/Facebook eventsCreate and manage engaging content for social media using tools such as Adobe Creative suite, Wordpress and MailChimpDevelop and implement marketing strategies for eventsProvide support to ASMP Chicago/Midwest members who have Instagram takeoversAssist ASMP Board in coordinating professional development events Attend monthly board meetings (if remote, join on Zoom when available)Communicate with Chicago photography community to help find organizations to cross-promote/partner withStaff, assist with setup and greet guests at ASMP Chicago/Midwest EventsSend welcome emails to new members using ASMP national website database/spreadsheetsWork with a great team of dedicated ASMP Chicago/Midwest Board members!Requirements:
Experience managing social media channels and developing social media strategiesExperience with administrative tasks and event planningOrganized with excellent communication skillsDirect experience using social media management tools including Wordpress and MailChimpExperience with Google Drive/DocsPassion for growing and supporting Chicago/Midwest photography and art communityBackground in design with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, Express) or similar digital media editing tools a plus

We are looking for local or remote qualified candidates who are able to start immediately, have a flexible schedule and can work around 10-15 hours a month. Compensation during the ramp-up period will be $20 an hour, with potential to make $25 an hour after six months, based on qualifications.
