Senior Packaging Designer

Our Senior Packaging Designer is a member of the creative team and plays a key role in ensuring our brand makes a consistent impact. Responsible for a variety of packaging and production-related tasks, including packaging design, file preparation, vendor coordination, and the creation of physical and digital mock-ups.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Creative Director + Manager, Merchandising Team, and Senior Copywriter to concept, develop, and expand packaging solutions for multiple proprietary art supply brands.Uphold and develop brand standards, maintain packaging style guides. Assist with the development of new package designs, applying designs to new die lines or updating existing packaging.Produce final art files and proof to internal customers and external vendors. Prepare and release files to our packaging vendors with varied printing processes, troubleshooting as necessary to attain the best results while considering print limitations.Archive completed projects on a timely basis.Execute and coordinate all essential packaging mocks, including the creation of 2D/3D mock-ups.Manage internal proofs and provide detailed feedback to vendor/team when changes are needed.Maintain and nurture vendor/client relationships.Monitor active packaging projects to ensure they remain on schedule.Create and validate UPC barcodes.Proficiencies and Skills

Strong and confident in concept, execution, and production.Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud and proficiency with Microsoft Office environment.High-level strategist when presenting concepts that lead to quick answers and solutions.Ability to produce effective 2D and 3D mock-ups.Comfortable with numerous SKUs/projects; managing the details, reviews, and alterations. Communicate effectively and professionally with other departments, from requests for additional assets or relaying/receiving feedback on projects.Ability to work collaboratively but confident in their area of expertise by sharing new ideas and solutions. Packaging prepress experience. Exceptional knowledge of the various print processes, inks, substrates, and color profiles.Ability to troubleshoot/adjust vendor files to meet our printers’ specifications.Interest in packaging trends and industry sustainable efforts.Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in design or art-related field required.5+ years of design experience, with at least 3+ years in packaging and branding.Benefits Include:
