Schoolsite Producer \ Windy City Performs

WINDY CITY PERFORMS SCHOOLSITE PRODUCER - CONTRACTED SPRING SEMESTER Schoolsites Programs The Schoolsite Producer will serve as the glue for our exciting and dynamic Schoolsite Programs. We have contracts with 16 public and private schools in NW Chicago, where we transplant our Youth Company model to the schools, and ending in a final production that is semiproduced with costumes, props, some scenic elements, and live musical accompaniment. Some of the schools now have 1st and/or 2nd grade programs, which are reduced script and less-produced version of the Schoolsite program. This contractor will begin in mid-February plannning for final showings that happen in April & May, plus the first week of June. The workload increases and the deadlines are more crucial as we enter the April thru June time frame, but planning, legwork, school communication, and oversight of designers will happen throughout the process. Timely communication via email and phone is expected. Hours are flexible, but will require at least two site visits for each school, a regular team meeting, and participation in setting up and running as many school tech weeks as possible. This position may also stay on for summer to serve as a contracted PA for summer camps, if interested. Reports to the Schoolsite Program Director. Indirectly supervised by the Artistic Director. Collaborates and works closely with Schoolsite liaisons/building principals, and teachers/directors of the various programs during load-in and showing periods. Oversees contracted scenic painter, props designer, and Production Assistants/truck drivers. We prefer someone with a driver license, as we require occasional trips to the schools, as well as errands to purchase items, or assist occasionally with a load-in or load-out, We provide a Company-owned van for use by staff of this program. STIPEND is $3850, paid in 5 equal payments over the course of the semester, Feb/Mar/Apr/May/June.
