LVL3 seeks a detail-oriented individual and strong communicator in a creative, fast-paced, independent learning environment. Under direct supervision of the Managers, the Publication Editor will carry out weekly tasks to support the successful publishing of weekly online interviews. This role will provide direct experience in researching a range of artists, designers, creative projects, as well as the opportunity for occasional gallery installation, maintenance, and management as appropriate. *No gallery experience is required. All individuals with interest in the arts/creative communities are encouraged to apply.*
The Publication Editor should be able to commit to be on a team for a minimum of 6 months (Start and end dates are flexible and can be negotiated)
The Publication Editor is expected to work 5-12 hours per week and must be timely with responses to email correspondence and website maintenance requests. While this position will be primarily remote until further notice, occasional gallery hours support may be necessary as well as opening receptions assistance which take place approximately every 5-6 weeks.
The Publication Editor is expected to promptly reply to emails and task requests. Lateness will not be tolerated. If the Publication Editor fails to respond and/or follow through with responsibilities more than three times without a prior notification, they will be reviewed for dismissal. The Publication Editor must notify the team via email no later than two weeks in advance for any days they will be unavailable for prolonged communication.
-Familiarity with Adobe Suite

-Familiarity with WordPress or content management systems (no html/css required)
-Excellent communication and organizational skills
-Strong written and verbal skills
-Ability to complete projects independently with attention to detail
-Ability to meticulously proofread and edit materials for website
-Flexible schedule and access to mobile email
-Applicants must be well versed, aware, and have respectable taste in current music, arts, fashion, and design
-Must live within a 30-minute commute of LVL3 (preferably off the blue line).
-Experience with creative writing, graphic design, photography, social media, traveling and language are preferred.
-Proofreading and drafting 2 weekly interviews to be approved
-Maintain LVL3 interview archive list
-Daily research of art, design, music, fashion, and culture to be cataloged in Google spreadsheet
-Gallery hours and maintenance on occasion
-Update and maintain website and social media regularly
-Awareness of the gallery’s programming and schedule
-Maintain regular engagement and awareness of Chicago’s gallery community
The Publication Editor is required to have access to a computer with video capabilities and must have regular Internet access to maintain an active Gmail account.
Once hired, applicants will participate in a 30-day trial period. After 30 days, the performance and attitude of each team member will be assessed in order to insure a proper fit. (Note: LVL3 is a team supported artist-run space. All positions are unpaid and team members do not receive financial compensation).
