PT Summer Retail Assistant at Neighborly

Neighborly is a local, woman owned home and gift shop committed to sourcing ethically made products. This is a paid hourly position to start as soon as possible through late October at our beautiful Chicago Riverwalk location, with the option to transition to our brick and mortar shops for the holiday season. The retail assistant is an integral asset to our small team and will work independently to staff our Riverwalk location. Please note this location is outdoors, but under cover (and stays fairly cool with lake breezes).

Besides providing excellent customer service, they will have the important task of representing Neighborly and sharing the shop's story, as well as acting as an ambassador for the City of Chicago to a variety of visitors from longtime, local residents to tourists from around the world.

At least one weekend day will be required.

The ideal person for this position:

> has a demonstrated interest in independently made products and/or the arts
> has a great attitude, especially when providing customer service
> is organized and pays attention to details
> is comfortable being outdoors (under cover) in all the types of weather that Chicago presents from May-October
> preferably has lived in the city of Chicago for at least two years
