PT Retail Assistant at Neighborly

Neighborly is a consciously sourced gift and home shop on the north side of Chicago. We're looking to hire a temporary, part-time Retail Assistant to work a minimum of one day a week, on Sundays, with additional days based on availability to begin as soon as possible at our Wicker Park pop-up location. This position has the possibility to increase to 35 hours per week in early May with additional shifts at our (outdoor) Riverwalk location.

Schedule requirements: Must be available Sundays

At this job, you will be expected to:

> Offer exceptional customer service, greet every customer that comes to the shop, assist them with product information and recommendations, provide an easy and pleasant shopping and checkout experience.

> Learn and become a wizard at using our POS system, Shopify, to checkout customers, perform returns, look up products and inventory, and add new products.

> Maintain shop to be clean and orderly with basic tasks like folding Tshirts, rearranging out of place products, sweeping, cleaning, dusting shelves, removing trash and recycling, etc.

> Restock shelves when items sell, similarly, replace artwork on wall/display as needed. Restock supplies for checkout.

> Represent Neighborly and share the shop's story, act as an ambassador for the craftspeople whose products we carry.

You:

> have prior experience in retail or hospitality

> have a demonstrated interest in independently made products and/or the arts

> have a great attitude, especially when providing customer service

> are a quick learner and can think on your feet
