Project Manager | DeGroot Fine Art

DeGroot Fine Art located in Chicago, IL is seeking a motivated professional to join our team during a pivotal and exciting time of growth in our company. As a small business, teamwork & collaborative projects are a cornerstone of our work environment. This is a dynamic role that requires the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment. Comfort working with deadlines is key, as projects will range in timeframe and in scale.

DeGroot Fine Art is a fine art consulting firm specializing in bespoke solutions for corporate entities. Our art consultants work with corporate and private clients to manage art collections and provide creative collaborations that enrich the workspace, home, and local art community.

Our hours are 9:30 am - 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role of Project Manager is a full-time, in-person position and requires flexibility for additional hours based on the needs of the company, including travel and occasional weekend work for client projects and meetings. Pay commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project management of corporate accounts. This includes interfacing with corporate clients, presenting services and artwork based on specific needs of the client, acting as the liaison between corporate contacts & art world professionals.
  • Research and assemble presentation materials
  • Assist with general operations of the business
  • Help to earn new business and maintain bar of excellence for existing clients


  • Bachelor’s degree with a background in art history, arts administration, or a relevant field required; Master’s degree a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a related field (gallery or museum operations, interior design, consulting, real estate)
  • Genuine interest in contemporary art and community
  • Self-motivated with experience bringing projects from A to Z
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and multitask
  • Dependability and desire to work as part of a small team
  • Proactive, efficient, and effective in taking on roles and responsibilities
  • Exceptional writing skills are highly desired
  • Photoshop and graphic design skills are a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and/or Google programs (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Project implementation requires standing or walking for extended periods of time
