Performance Marketing Specialist

The Old Town School of Folk Music is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Performance Marketing Specialist to drive performance marketing for the organization in support of the sales and promotion of educational programming and concert offerings.

Job Summary

The Performance Marketing Specialist's role is to design, create, and execute marketing campaigns and experiences to support growth and retention of Old Town School's educational programming and events both in-person and online. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of digital marketing, analytics, advertising platforms and emerging trends in social media.

This is a leading role in the management of digital projects for the organization inclusive of online planning and insight, online promotions, content production, online display advertising, web building and design, and social media.

Key Duties

The Performance Marketing Specialist is a collaborative role along with the Digital Marketing Coordinator, and is the key touchpoint for the Old Town School brand's online presence. This position delivers marketing communications for prospective and active students, concertgoers and event attendees.

Daily functions include:

- Creating and implementing marketing strategies for successful sales

- Planning email campaigns and audience strategy

- Content creation, copyediting and management

- Executing promotional and paid digital advertising campaigns

- Analyzing data and performance metrics as well implementation with internal reporting

- Managing website adjustments

The Performance Marketing Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing and interfaces with all aspects of the organization. Candidates should be prepared to interact with the marketing team's communication functions as well as public relations, events, retail as well as new and creative collaborations among external brands, technologies and platforms.


B.S. in Marketing, Communications or Business required or equivalent experience. Three years of related experience required. Ideal candidates should have strong communication skills and are able to interface with creatives as well as utilizing consumer insights to explore and develop creative marketing acquisition tactics.

Candidates should have 3-years minimum experience with: managing SEO/SEM/PPC for brands, managing CRM databases and e-commerce platforms, and have working knowledge of HTML and CSS. This role must follow best practices and make recommendations based on changes in the rapidly changing field of digital marketing. Experience with Google Suite, Google Analytics and Facebook Ad Manager preferred.
