Part-time, Holiday Retail Assistant (15-30 hrs/wk) at Neighborly
Neighborly is a consciously sourced gift and home shop on the north side of Chicago. We're looking to hire part-time Retail Assistants to work during the holiday season beginning as soon as possible through the end of December, possibly extending into 2023 based on availability. Duties include greeting customers in the shop, assisting customers as they browse, checking customers out, restocking shelves and maintaining shop appearance. They will also have the important task of representing Neighborly and sharing the shop's story, as well as acting as an ambassador for the craftspeople whose products we carry.
Schedule requirements: Must be available Sundays and Thursdays, and available up to Dec 24th.
> have prior experience in retail or hospitality
> have a demonstrated interest in independently made products and/or the arts
> have a great attitude, especially when providing customer service
> are a quick learner and can think on your feet
At this job, you will be expected to:
> Offer exceptional customer service, greet every customer that comes to the shop, assist them with product information and recommendations, provide an easy and pleasant shopping and checkout experience.
> Learn and become a wizard at using our POS system, Shopify, to checkout customers, perform returns, look up products and inventory, and add new products.
> Maintain shop to be clean and orderly with basic tasks like folding Tshirts, rearranging out of place products, sweeping, cleaning, dusting shelves, removing trash and recycling, etc.
> Restock shelves when items sell, similarly, replace artwork on wall/display as needed. Restock supplies for checkout.
