Part-time Gallery Director, Riverside Arts Center
The Riverside Arts Center seeks a dynamic, personable, detail-oriented individual to join our staff. The Gallery Director provides support to RAC’s leadership, manages exhibitions and programs, communications, promotion, and outreach for RAC’s galleries. This job requires knowledge of contemporary art, art handling and installation, and curation, the ability to work with the public, and to work both independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with the Chicago arts community is a plus. BFA/BA required; MFA/MA or equivalent preferred. This is a part-time position, 15 hours a week. Much of the work can be done from home. Two days a week in the gallery is required, from 1-5pm.

The Riverside Arts Center (RAC) is a small not-for-profit community arts center, founded and built by Riverside residents. It is supported by passionate volunteers. Since 1993, the RAC has provided Riverside, its surrounding suburbs and the city of Chicago with exhibitions, art classes, and special events. The RAC is located in historic Riverside, IL and includes the Freeark Contemporary Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden, the RAC FlexSpace, the Town Hall Gallery, Artist Studios, as well as classrooms, and a clay studio.
