Musical Theatre Teaching Artist/Directors

Skyline Studios is seeking Teaching Artist/Directors specifically for their TUESDAY AND THURSDAY AFTERNOON (starting at 3PM) Fall 2022 classes, featuring Annie Jr.! Classes run September-December with the possibility for more after school classes pending enrollment.

For the past 18 years, Skyline Studios has been giving Chicagoland’s young performers in Broadway Tots (Age 3-4), Broadway Juniors (Age 5-7) and Broadway Stars (Age 7-12) the opportunity to bring their favorite characters to life as they rehearse and perform a musical!

Teaching Artist/Directors are responsible for:

-Leading weekly classes teaching the songs, choreography (provided by the company - need not be a choreographer to apply), and scene work necessary to prepare for the show

-Incorporating lessons in theatre basics through acting games and ensemble activities

-Preparing their casts for performance

Ideal candidates possess:

-A passion and enthusiasm for working with young performers

-Prior experience teaching the age groups listed above

-Strong classroom management skills

-Confidence in leading young performers in all aspects of a musical theatre class

-The ability to inspire, encourage, and empower young performers during a fast-paced rehearsal process!

Classes take place both after school and during the school day. We are primarily in need of new staff at partner sites on the North Shore. Teaching Artist/Directors are responsible for their own transportation to and from classes.
