Position: Musical Theater Camp Director Supervisor

Overview: The Camp Director Supervisor plays a crucial oversight role, emphasizing supervision and management responsibilities while actively contributing to the creative process. This position is designed to support and facilitate the creative efforts of the returning staff, ensuring a vibrant and inspiring Music Theater Camp environment.

Responsibilities: As the Supervisor-on-Duty, you will be the go-to person for all camp-related matters at your specific location. Your primary responsibilities include overseeing the safety and smooth operation of the camp, collaborating with the creative staff to maintain daily activity schedules, and serving as a liaison between Improv Playhouse, parents, and facility representatives. Your role is essential in creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience.

Camp Director Qualities:

  • Ability to work with children aged 5-15, fostering self-development and a love for the arts.
  • Knowledge of camp programming and adherence to codes of conduct.
  • Prior leadership experience working with children and theater camp staff.
  • Demonstrate good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, a sense of humor, patience, and self-control.
  • Optional theatre experience, including directing musical theatre productions (preferably with youth), choreography, and familiarity with music/vocals.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to become certified before the summer begins.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be 21 years old or older.

Additional Information: A detailed role description will be offered to the candidate based on commensurate experience. Stipend commensurate with experience. This position is a seasonal contract, reflecting the duration of the Improv Playhouse® Music Theater Camps.
