Mid-Level Scheduling Studio Assistant
Pope.L, artist based in Chicago IL, seeks Mid-Level Scheduling Studio Assistant to begin work January 24th, 2022
This position is 3 to 4 days a week. Hourly pay is based on skill-level and experience. This position primarily requires the individual to work closely with Pope.L and the other studio assistants to facilitate and maintain the various time-lines of the studio.The studio has a small staff of three. Though each individual has a focus, tasks are frequently shared.
a. Keeper of the Calendar: coordinate with Pope.L to schedule his projects and project travel (which are mostly off-site, a few in-studio) as well as his teaching and family obligations.
b. Work in collaboration with Pope.L and other Studio assistants concerning communicating with galleries, museums, his university, etc.
c. Assist in maintaining studio databases, sending intellectual property documents, and communicating with teaching assistants, graduate, and undergraduate students.
a. Must be willing to stay in this position for a minimum of two years.
b. Must be highly organized, efficient and communicative. Some experience in an office setting and/or event planning is very helpful.
c. Must be able to receive and provide clear and concise direction.
d. Must be able to work in a busy environment be light on your feet and productively receive criticism
e. Must be able to work well independently and in a group.
f. Having a vehicle and valid driver's license is a plus.
g. Experience with air travel and current state of international travel
a. Very good writing and communication skills.
b. Prior experience working in an artist's studio who does commissions, an art gallery, or a non-profit.
c. Prior experience organizing projects involving large groups of people over significant periods of timed. Knowledge of Adobe Suite and Excel. Knowledge of art databases (Artsystems, Artbase, etc.)
