Metalsmithing & Jewelry Studio Technician
Lillstreet’s Metalsmithing & Jewelry Department Studio Technician is responsible for maintaining the studio and the equipment within the metalsmithing and jewelry program as well as assisting students with the technical issues that may arise. The overarching responsibility is to ensure the studio is a safe environment that fosters the best possible learning and teaching experience for students and faculty. The successful candidate will gain unlimited access to jewelry and metalsmithing facilities and a dedicated bench space.
- Maintenance of studio facility, tools and equipment, including keeping the space clean and well organized;
- Assisting in the safe and healthy operation of the studio, including working with students to ensure health and safety regulations are upheld and equipment is used properly;
- Taking inventory of materials, replenishing supplies, selling class materials and keeping accurate records;
- Monitoring use of the Metals Studio;
- Assisting Dept Director in departmental projects and improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in arts or higher or 5+ years as a working artist
- Metalsmithing studio safety & equipment repair knowledge
- Positive, professional, and motivational
- Excellent people skills
- Must be comfortable working with adults of all skill levels and abilities
- Evening and weekend availability preferred

Compensation
This is a part-time 24 hour per week permanent position at an hourly rate starting at $16/hr.
