MCA Summer Internship - Strategic Communications
The Museum of Contemporary Art Internship Program welcomes students and recent graduates who wish to broaden their education and professional experience by working and learning in a not-for-profit museum. All MCA departments offer experiential education in a challenging, hands-on environment.
The Strategic Communications intern assists in Marketing, Media Relations, and Social Media, creating visibility for the museum, exhibitions, and programs. The intern participates in a variety of activities, such as: program-related research, responding to inquiries, maintaining the newsclip system, managing listings distributions, writing media releases, assisting film crews and photographers, interacting with artists and media, participation in grassroots marketing efforts, conducting research on prospective audience markets, analysis of demographic information, data collection and analysis, email database management, producing eNewsletters, and monitoring and moderating social media interaction. Candidates must have strong writing, organizational, and computer skills and be familiar with all major social media platforms

Internship Program Details
Summer 2020 Internships will run from June 1 - August 17, 2020. Individual internship dates may vary. In special circumstances, these dates can be flexible depending on the needs of the candidate and hiring department.
All MCA internships are paid positions. Interns will work an average of 24 hours/week and be paid the Chicago minimum wage rate.
