Marketing Position - Non-Profit

American Music Institute is a Non- Profit located in the Western Suburbs of Chicago...

  • Part-time marketing position for non-profit music organization
  • Remote and on-site as needed
  • Conduct research on individual, corporate, and foundation prospects as needed
  • Work with development staff in obtaining necessary information prospective donors, etc (facts and figures)
  • Communicate to donors the ways funding is having a positive impact (via social media, email, and mail)
  • Prepares & helps to prepare communications – newsletters, web content, etc.
  • Writes press releases and media alerts and maintains list of media contacts
  • Updates social media accounts regularly
  • Maintain and manage Social Media
  • Provides assistance in the planning, preparation and coordination of events
  • Handles in coordination with development staff, Marketing Campaigns
  • Attend events - set up booths, etc.
  • Prepare marketing materials for distribution at events
  • Handle/follow up on callers who are looking to set up fundraising
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications & Education:

  • Ideally, degree in marketing
  • Experience in non-profit sector preferred - a minimum of 1yr working in marketing or fundraising
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Marketing Software required; Photoshop (optional)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of grant application process and writing of applications, but not necessary
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines for grants and events
  • Ability to take initiative and utilize innovative techniques and ingenuity in preparing grant applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with various people at all levels
  • Ability to research grant opportunities
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to participate as a team player on organization’s activities
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply rules and regulations
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate a variety of data
  • Serve as an ambassador to the organization not only at work, but also outside of work
