Are you curious about what happens behind the scenes at a museum? The International Museum of Surgical Science invites enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Marketing Interns, where you can explore the dynamic world of museum marketing and operations.
As a Marketing Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments, contributing to the development and implementation of marketing strategies. Your role will involve creating engaging content for social media, assisting in the preparation of promotional materials, and supporting community outreach initiatives.
The expected internship period is September 23, 2024 - December 20, 2025. Start and end dates are flexible to accommodate schedules. Applicants must be willing to commit at least two full days per week during the Internship Period.
Qualifications:
- Open to college undergraduates, graduate students of all majors, and recent graduates.
- Candidates should have completed at least one year of college coursework and demonstrate a strong interest in marketing/social media fields.
- Must be at least 18 years old at the time of the internship.
- Must be detail-oriented, able to work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Google Suites and Canva or similar programs is required.
- Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with photo editing is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with marketing promotions by creating social media posts, sending out newsletters, and designing promotional flyers.
- Collaborate with museum staff across various departments, including exhibits, programming, and activities, to develop engaging social media content.
- Support community engagement and outreach by creating promotional materials and leading nature-based activities at large-scale events and with local youth groups.
Reporting:
The Marketing Intern will report directly to the Assistant Manager of Programs and Development and Director of Operations.
