TITLE: Manager, Annual Giving Reviewed: January 2019 FSLA STATUS: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Development GENERAL SUMMARY Assist in managing a comprehensive, multi-channel development/marketing plan for annual giving programs. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assist in management and growth of several fundraising programs across various media channels, including but not limited to: online, social media, email, direct mail, and telefunding. 2. Analyze data to create effective fundraising campaigns for donor acquisition and retention. 3. Embrace emerging technology, related applications, and tools to gain competitive advantages. 4. Develop and implement giving strategies for various donor level groups, including creating videos and writing compelling stories for campaigns. 5. Achieve annual revenue goals, track program results and provide analysis. 6. Assist in creation and coordination of direct mail, email, telefunding, staff/orchestra/chorus, and subscription donor campaigns. 7. Manage the creation and deployment of Annual Fund related email campaigns. 8. Attend and assist with development related events and concerts throughout the year (may include occasional night and weekend work). 9. Work with internal and external vendors responsible for program creation and execution. 10. Assist Director in leading cross-functional implementation teams and facilitating interdepartmental communication and collaboration to ensure program success. 11. Other duties as assigned. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS 1. Reports to Director, Annual Giving and Development Operations. 2. Work with external constituents such as telefunding and direct mail consultants. 3. Other contacts: Trustees, Governing Members, Women’s Board, donors, volunteers, and CSO staff. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED 1. Bachelor's degree required. 2. A minimum of three to five years increasingly responsible experience in complex fundraising programs, specifically with lower-level giving segment strategies. 3. Computer literacy, including database management and segmentation concepts. Tessitura experience a plus. 4. Ability to write compelling and creative solicitations to donors at all levels. 5. Familiarity with mail house processes, lead management, suppressions, and incentive strategies an asset. 6. Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels. 7. Ability to work autonomously while keeping direct supervisor apprised of issues, problems, opportunities and progress. 8. Ability to work collaboratively with development colleagues to create a results-driven, team oriented environment. 9. Strong written and verbal skills. WORKING CONDITIONS Pleasant office environment.
